This course aims to equip students with essential English language skills, focusing on comprehension, communication, and critical thinking in the context of youth-related topics. Students will learn to identify main ideas and relevant details in oral texts, develop inferential skills to understand implied information and express ideas using common vocabulary in writing and presentations. The course will cover strategies for expressing opinions, making comparisons, and responding to questions in conversations. Additionally, students will read and analyze various texts, including print, digital, visual, multimodal, and interactive formats, to locate and evaluate specific details and main ideas. They will also plan, write, review, and revise texts, demonstrating self-correction strategies and an awareness of purpose and audience. Furthermore, students will learn to use nonverbal elements to enhance communication and identify the author's purposes in different texts, ultimately becoming effective communicators in diverse settings.
